what is this place…?
This newsletter started as a space to dump all my writing-related thoughts, and as I gear up to re-launch I want to dive deeper into the whys and hows of my creative process, and invite other creatives to talk about theirs. Expect introspective posts, interviews and even podcast episodes exploring the challenges of creating, mixed in with news and updates from me, as well as links to cool things on the internet.
wait a minute… who are you?
I am a jack of many trades: I currently serve as the Podcast Editor at Strange Horizons, write a column on speculative theatre for the BSFA’s journal Vector, and help run Spectrum, London’s largest (and best, IMO, but I’m biased) critique group for science fiction and fantasy writers.
I’m always juggling a plethora of writing projects, most notably my standalone novel about a secret society of swedish superheroes, a science-fantasy novel(a? ette? who knows) about Cassandra of Troy, as well as some short stories and…. possibly poetry?? I think I’m getting into SF poetry. I also used to write a lot and make videos on YouTube about film.

I sometimes forget to tweet or insta-story or skeet (oof social media, amirite) about when I have a new issue or blog post out… but email is dependable, baby!
In the future I may offer different kinds of posts for a modest subscription fee, but for now everyone gets the same, free content. My aim is to build a community around a shared love of stories, art, entertainment, and a kind and empathetic way of living and looking at the world. Join me!
